Ultraviolet sterilizes are used in cases when pathogenic microorganisms are needed to be eradicated or prevented against growth. Water disinfection is widely used in the following spheres:
Operation of water sterilizers is based on intolerance of a great number of microorganisms to intensive uv exposure. Thanks to uv intensive radiation the structure of all bacteria, viruses and protozoal microorganisms exposed to such radiation breaks down. The entire process takes no more than 5 seconds.
An ultraviolet lamp is a main operating component of a sterilizer. In order to ensure safety upon contact with water flow and increase service life, lamps are enclosed in a tough sheath made of quartz. Lamps are mounted inside a working chamber. Water flow constantly passes through the chamber and is being processed as exposed to uv radiation. The sterilizer performance parameters (flow rate, radiator quantity and output) are selected in such a way as to provide sufficient time for eradication of all microorganisms. A control and monitoring unit provides the sterilizer operation management. This unit receives signals reflecting the lamp status and the necessity for its replacement in case of need. The sterilizer shall be periodically flushed in the course of its operation. In continuous mode of operation the sterilizer shall be flushed at least once every three months.
